NaKniSweMo???
Well, no I didn’t start learning chinese I actually started learning knitting! lol
After much thinking and debating I have picked up my much neglected needles and casted on some stitches.
I got inspired by this post on the Knitty blog, I had heard of NaNoWriMo (write a 50,000-word novel in a month) before, but actually this knitting version sounds much more appealing to me!
So, what’s NaKniSweMo?
From the dedicated Ravelry Group:
The pattern I am following is the “Francis Revisited” one from Ravelry. In only a week I have frogged it twice already. The first time I had lost count of the rows I had to do and it was starting to look a bit messy, the second time I had already joined the sleeves when I realized that my arms would NEVER fit in there (so I technically frogged only about 5 rows, but it was still painful!). I actually fixed it today, but I smell a 3rd frogging. Whether I have enormous shoulders or the pattern is weird, cause though I measured my chest (and my size would be a small according to it) the outcome is too small. Either way if I knit a medium size, the whole thing is huge, so I am actually working on an odd number of stitches in between the 2 sizes, but I’m not very convinced yet.
Here is the little monster:
knitted out of unknown yarn bought at a local market in Italy for 10€, a real bargain! It’s super soft and looks warm too, I just hope it’ll be enough to knit the whole thing. It weights about 750g, but it has a quite thick cardboard roll in the middle, so time will tell.
Will I manage to complete it by the end of the month? Currently accepting bets
ps: horrible pics, I know!

So, what’s NaKniSweMo?
From the dedicated Ravelry Group:
knit a 50,000-stitch sweater in a month. Just about any full size sweater will meet this criteria! If you divide your chosen sweater pattern’s rows or rounds by 30, you’ll have an idea of how many rows you need to knit each day to make it. Yes, the stitch count thing is crazy, but I think I can say with confidence that most sweaters out there are at least that, or more.So how cool is that? I have BY CHANCE started knitting a sweater on Oct 31st, so I guess that counts?!?
